Baked Ziti

Salt 2 teaspoons
Ziti 1 lb.
Sausage 4 links, crumbled
Marinara Sauce 1.5 - 2 quarts
Ricotta Cheese 1 lb.
Fresh Basil 10 leaves
Mozzarella Cheese 1 lb., cut into 1/4 inch cubes
Provolone Cheese 1 cup, shredded

Bring a large pot of salted water to boil, add ziti. Cook until just al dente, about 10 minutes, then drain.

Pre-cook crumbled sausage in a separate pan for about 5 minutes, set aside.

Meanwhile, bring marinara sauce to a simmer. Turn off burner, then add ricotta and basil, stirring often.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

How to assemble baked ziti:

Spread a bit of sauce on the bottom of a 15×10 inch baking dish.

Layer ziti on top of the sauce.

Then add crumbled sausage.

Sprinkle with mozzarella and provolone cheese.

Pour sauce over the cheese in an even layer.

Repeat until ingredients are gone.

Sprinkle any remaining cheeses, top with sauce.

Bake, uncovered, until browned, about 30 minutes.

Let rest 5 minutes before cutting.
